FERRY - move files between your iPhone and your PC
Works completely offline. Nothing to install.
=====================================================

WHAT YOU NEED
  - A Windows 10 or 11 PC and an iPhone on the SAME Wi-Fi network.
  - No internet, no Python, no app on the iPhone (it uses Safari).

FIRST TIME
  1. Put Ferry.exe anywhere (for example your Desktop) and double-click it.
       - "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway.
       - "Allow network access?": tick "Private networks", click Allow.
  2. Ferry opens in your browser. Scan the QR code with the iPhone Camera
and tap the link. On the iPhone, tap Share > Add to Home Screen.
Next time: open Ferry.exe on the PC, then tap the Ferry icon on the iPhone.

FREE TRIAL AND SUBSCRIPTION
Ferry is free for 7 days, no card needed. After that, subscribe for
$2/month or $15/year. Press Subscribe in Ferry, pay on the Whop page,
then paste the license key Whop gives you (also in your Whop orders)
  into Ferry and press Activate.
  - Needs internet only to activate and about once a week to re-check.
In between, Ferry works fully offline.
  - One key works on one PC. To move it, open your order on Whop and
press Reset Key, then activate on the new PC.
  - Cancel any time from Manage in Ferry or your Whop account.

WAYS TO CONNECT (left panel on the PC page)
SCAN Point the iPhone camera at the QR code.
TYPE A CODE Camera won't scan, or it's another phone/computer?
In its browser type the address shown (the numbers, or
ferry.local:8765) and enter the 6-digit code.
Wrong guesses are limited, and the code changes if someone
                keeps guessing.
NO WI-FI No router or no shared Wi-Fi? Three options:
                - iPhone Personal Hotspot: join it from the PC's Wi-Fi.
                - USB cable: plug in the iPhone, turn on Personal Hotspot,
tap Trust (needs iTunes or Apple Devices installed).
                - PC as the hotspot: turn on the Windows mobile hotspot,
type its name and password in the panel, and scan the
Wi-Fi code with the iPhone camera to join.
Ferry notices the new network by itself and updates the code.
Several devices can connect at once. The PC page shows who is connected.
If your PC is on more than one network, pick the right one under the QR code.

WAYS TO SHARE
iPhone -> PC Tap the big yellow button and pick photos, videos or files.
Saved on the PC in Downloads\Ferry (change it with "Change folder").
PC -> iPhone Drag files OR WHOLE FOLDERS onto the page ("Send a whole
folder" also works), or press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot.
On the iPhone tap Save. Folders save as one ZIP.
SELECT SEVERAL Tick the boxes, then Save as ZIP (iPhone) or Delete.
SHARE LINK Press Share on any file or folder to get a QR code and link.
Anyone on the same network can download just that item, with
no code needed. Press "Stop sharing" to turn it off. Items
with a link show a "Link on" tag.
TEXT AND LINKS Paste a link or note on one device and tap Copy on the other.
Deleting moves files to the PC's Recycle Bin.
Saved files go to the iPhone's Files app > Downloads. To put a photo or
video in Photos, open it in Files, tap Share, then Save Image / Save Video.

IF IT SAYS "NOT CONNECTED"
The page reconnects by itself. Check Ferry is still open on the PC, the PC
isn't asleep (a closed laptop lid sleeps), and the phone is on the same Wi-Fi.

IF THE iPHONE CAN'T CONNECT AT ALL
  - Same Wi-Fi on both (not a guest network).
  - Make the PC's Wi-Fi "Private": Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi >
    your network > Private network.
  - Start > "Allow an app through Windows Firewall" > find Ferry > tick Private.
  - Try the "Type a code" tab, or another address under the QR code.

GOOD TO KNOW
  - Nothing goes through the internet. The QR code holds a private key, and
the typed code is needed otherwise, so strangers on the Wi-Fi can't get in.
  - Share links are the one exception: anyone with that link can open that one
item until you stop sharing (or close Ferry).
  - Large videos work. Keep Safari open until the progress bar finishes.
  - Opening Ferry.exe twice is harmless.
  - ferry.local may not work on every network; the numbers always do.

ADVANCED
